It wasn't. My biggest problem with this movie is Ed Begley, Jr. He wasn't hot then and he isn't hot now. In fact, I had to stop watching at the scene where he and Meryl were literraly tumbling around her bed wrapped in a sheet because he is just so unappealing to me.
As for Roseanna, surely they could have found a way to make her a frump even without going overobard with that thing on her face? As for Meryl, she is beautiful but she is what I would say is movie star beauitufl.
Striking, yes, but I don't think she's sexy here at all. Mary Fisher is no Miranda Preistly which is Meryl's comedic tour de force!
I love this movie. WOW; bet u people are not too hot looking either. I think he is hot and so do other women in the world. He was featured on the Bio channel television program Celebrity Close Calls, Begley nearly died in , after being stabbed multiple times while being mugged by a street gang.
His attackers were black teenagers, who were later apprehended by the police in the black section of town. U people make life unbearable.
If you don't like that kind of humor, then this movie isn't for you. But if you have a love of dark comedies with an overwhelming amount of ridiculously retro flair, this movie is the best!

But if you have a love of dark comedies with an overwhelming amount of ridiculously retro flair, this movie is the best! Perhaps the most comprehensive lovers revenge comedy I've ever seen!
This is a classic that I could watch over and over! It's Roseanne at her finest whether that is good or bad, that is up to the individual watching her as she is somewhat of a polarizing figure The movie was interesting as it deals with universal themes It does have some cliches in it but those worked for the time period in which it was made and distributed.
Now it is a fun trip down memory lane when taking the journey known as "She Devil". I could ever have imagined Rosanne Barr in the same movie as Meryl Streep.
There is no denying the gifted talent of Roseanne Barr and the rest of this cast. I just love her the way Roseanne can immerse herself into character.
The talent is so natural the way all these actors immersed themselves into their character making it believable they actually exist. Acting and chemistry between them was so natural, and absolutely gut-busting hilarious.
I really enjoyed Sylvia Miles and Linda Hunt in their characters too. I don't want to give the movie away but I have to tell you my favorite scene was with the donuts.
You have to see this movie. I have loved this movie since ! I never miss an opportunity to watch it when I stumble upon it and today was no different.
It is still a great and funny dark comedy. It really doesn't get old for me. I still find fun little details that I hadn't noticed before.
The most interesting thing about this movie is trying to figure out why Meryl Streep and Linda Hunt would agree to be cast.
The plot is cliche and predictable and everyone character is a walking stereotype. Streep is mildly entertaining which is a miracle, given the script and that's the one and only positive thing I can say about this movie.

Despite her efforts her husband who is an accountant is captured by Mary Fisher Meryll Streep a popular romance author. After his affair gets public at a dinner with his parents, Bob tries to blame Ruth, he points out the things which are most important for him in life, his home, his family, his career and his freedom and claims the only thing disturbing his fortune was her the she-devil and moves to Mary.
At that point Ruth plans an evil revenge, tackling Bobs assets - one at a time On her way she builds up a strong support network for betrayed or just unlucky women who help her on her mission.
This s movie is great fun. I first seen this with the origonal actors many yrs ago and tom baker played the cheat.. I like this re-make and roseanne barr plays the role perfectly as the betrayed wife hell bent on revenge.
Its funny and know i shall enjoy watching everytime.. Roseanne has always been a favourite of mine and the transformation from frumpy housewife to thriving business woman is wonderful.
I think a follow up of this with same actors would have been good veiwing but lets hope they never try re-make this one as it wouldn,t be the same.
