I have been in Trier for a week and despite the fact that the food is quite good and the coffee delicious, I do not recommend it. The said sign is a very small sticker at the bottom of the window behind the big placards with the specials. Therefore not visible. Then a person I assume to be the manager came out and extremely rudely told us to leave immediately, and that they would call the police and that they could sue us for what we had said.
This is so far from good customer service, you cannot get further! Please do not give these people your custom!

Wir sind spontan mit Hund zum Frühstücken vorbeispaziert und sind herzlich empfangen worden. Die Terrasse ist sehr gemütlich und ruhig mit schöner Aussicht.
Direkt vor Ort kann man gut spazieren. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und abwechslungsreich. Sehr empfehlenswert!

ZeitsprungWhat I find refreshing is that here as in most of Germany these refreshment stations in museums and tourist spots do not take advantage of captive audiences.
My coffee was fresh and flavorful, not what you'd expect at a museum refreshment stand. The place was also tastefully decorated. It has an outdoor patio area but it was not open during my wintry visit.
The service we enjoyed was friendly and competent. The food — I had a hearty potato soup with sausage; my wife had a quiche and salad — was The cappuccino was of the same general quality.
Set in the park behind palace the cafe has a great location to sit and enjoy a good cup of coffee accompanied by a German sized piece of cake.
